Introduction to the Art of Writing
Want to be a writer? More importantly, do you want to be a published writer? Everyone has stories to tell. To learn the craft of writing, you need help bringing these stories to life with useful and time tested techniques. You need guidance to secure a publisher and find your target readership. This class concerns the joy of storytelling and what it takes to be successful at it. We will discuss basic writing skills, structure, character study, setting, and pacing. We will describe pitfalls found in the real world of publishing and how best to approach agents with a manuscript.
John Wolf is a retired engineer, professor, and author of five published novels. He is a member of the San Diego Writers and Editors Guild and also a member 2of Publishers and Writers of San Diego, a professional association. Don’t be shy, get started now.
